Now, let's talk about woods. Woods are so named because they were traditionally constructed of wood. Teeing off and long fairway shots are both situations that call for woods. The shafts of golf clubs come in different degrees of flex: soft, regular and stiff. In general, stronger players who are more proficient at the sport should opt for stiffer shafts. Most golf club shafts are constructed of steel or graphite.

Golf instructions advice...?

This is a two part question. I would like to get some golf lesson(s) specifically on hitting the driver. I can hit the irons and hybrids well enough to enjoy the game, but my driver is so erratic that I usually never hit with it.

How many lessons do you think I would need to take? Most places offer a single lesson or a three session package.

Secondly, where should I go? I like the idea of seeing a video replay at Golf Galaxy. But I don't like the idea of hitting into a net. So should I go to Golf Galaxy for lessons or to a local golf course pro.

Any other advice on selecting instructors is most welcome.

Pt 1.. There is nothing in the book that says you HAVE to tee off with your driver. I had problems with mine when I first started and found my 3 wood or my hybrids had more control. I have a 1 hybrid that I hit 200 yards so I teed off with that.

Pt. 2.. I would recommend that you take your lessons from a PGA pro at your local course. Golf Galaxy can do swing checks but it is not a place to take lessons.

Where I live you can take lessons from the pro by the hour or like you said buy a series of lessons (like here it is 4-5) for like 125 bucks. And you get your moneys worth.

Ask around where you play on who is the best instructor or just find one that YOU enjoy

Question about 05 Honda Civic Hybrid? Anyone own one?

I am looking to get a 05 Honda Civic Hybrid to save me gas (currently getting 13 mpg in my truck), and I noticed that pretty much all the hybrids I look at of the same year on Ebay, or anywhere have the 4 quadrant bar graph for fuel, and its supposed to tell you how many mpg you get and whatnot, was this an option with hybrids? or did only select ones come with it? the one I am looking at, doesnt seem to have it in the pictures, just has the regular gagues...

When you are looking at the dash it looks similar to a regular dash lay out.

While looking at the cluster the gauge on the left will be the tachometer, middle speedometer and the one on the right is for multiple things. This gauge is for the fuel, water temp, battery charge and when the IMA(Integrated Battery Assist) is in use or being charged. Your actual mileage will be right below the speedometer.

This is the standard layout for the Civic Hybrid and the gauge on the right will have a large IMA logo in the center. On the standard Civic on the right will be smaller individual gauges for fuel and water temp.
